A splendid modern-day classic and the prelude to THE LORD OF THE rings. Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who enjoys a comfy, unambitious existence, not often journeying any farther than his pantry or cellar. but his contentment is disturbed while the wizard Gandalf and a business enterprise of dwarves arrive on his doorstep in the future to whisk him away on an adventure.
They have got launched a plot to raid the treasure hoard guarded by way of Smaug the wonderful, a huge and very dangerous dragon. Bilbo reluctantly joins their quest, unaware that on his adventure to the Lonely Mountain he’ll come upon each a magic ring and a daunting creature known as Gollum.
Among the myriad versions of the Lord of the earrings to be had from Houghton Miflin, the version presenting Alan Lee’s illustrations is the best. different variants suffer by means of looking dated, being published cheaply, and the text gives little surprise by way of being tiny and unpleasant to the attention. The textual content inside the Blue edition with the illustrations by using Lee, but, is lots larger, is set better and features a extra lovely, readable typeface. The version itself is beautfifully bound and splendidly illustrated. Highly recommended as the only version to very own of this epic masterpiece.
